I call this painting Dutch Tulips. It has pretty shades of red and green and the shapes remind me of tulips. Willem de Kooning was my inspiration for this piece. I went to the Albright Knox museum and saw some of his work and then came home and painted this. I really like artists that were part of the expressionist movement. It can be hung framed or unframed with either a vertical or horizontal orientation, making it a very flexible piece.
